Problem: Biscuit lives in a apartment and needs a patch of soft lush turf for his paws so he can relieve himself while his owner is at work during the day. Otherwise he disappoints his owner by ruining the coffee table legs.
Solution: A low environmental impact and low maintenance loo with free draining soil to provide Biscuit with perpetual lushness.
P: A well intentioned attempt to provide Tanzanian tailors access to the international market.
S: While I was in Kigoma, Tanzania during Sydney's plastic bag ban, I designed some easily recognisable tote bags from the richly coloured kitenge fabric which could be retailed back home as a form of micro-development. Unfortunately logistics, numbers and consumer testing were not favourable.
P: Amanda enjoys floristry and lives in a small apartment. She needs a workbench she can use while arranging flowers without compromising space.
S: A aesthetically pleasing multi-height dining table which can be raised during floristry work and lowered during dinner time. A very tight budget meaning the project had to be a combination of off-the-shelf items. Total cost: under $1500.
P: An undergraduate object design course. Whoever said water and electricity don't mix?
S: Pour water to turn light on. Wait for water to evaporate to turn off. (Insert any metaphor for being environmentally conscious)
Make one vessel every day for 10 days and make them different.
P: Paul hosts life drawing sessions in his warehouse. He wanted to add dynamism and movement to the experience but still be able to provide optimal light and shadow on the model.
S: A joystick controlled pan tilt spot light using Arduino - In the shape of a breast, naturally.
Keeping morale up during COVID-19.
